The Powerhouse Duo: Model Makers

Model Makers Group was founded in 2009 by Tara Darby Rasheta and Cristina Nardozzi Buehrer, two industry veterans with more than fifty years of combined experience in modeling, entertainment, and mentoring.

Tara Darby Rasheta — Former Miss Alabama USA 2004 and a finalist at Miss USA, Tara has modeled for big fashion brands (Guess, Jessica Simpson, etc.), done syndicated TV travel hosting, and built a career that spans runways, commercials, and mentorship.
Cristina Nardozzi Buehrer — With roots in modeling over 25 years ago and ranking among Top‐40 finalists in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Cristina brings not just experience in front of the camera, but a deep understanding of what it takes behind the scenes: building portfolios, creating connections, maintaining professionalism.

Their mission has always been to empower up-and-coming talent, especially young women coming from pageant life, to navigate the modeling and entertainment industries with confidence, integrity, and authenticity.

What is the NYC Model Experience Event?

How do models prepare?

Model Makers Group is here to help! For selected talent, we will host a Zoom prep session, a group Zoom orientation session, and a private Zoom session to review imagery, prepare for the interview, etc.

What is the cost?

Agents are not paid to attend these networking events, however there are costs associated and therefore, there is a registration fee of $1500 to attend. House of Grace participants receive 20% off.

Do all models get placed?
There is NO guarantee that a model or actor will get placed. At similar events in Paris and Atlanta, and prior trips to NYC , we have had many contracts extended and we are expecting this event to be a success for those we take!

Agents attending the event expect that all participants have a Mother Agency. If you do not, Model Makers Group will act as your Mother Agency for the event and the agencies you sign with from this event.

For this event, Model Makers will work directly with models and talent to prepare including interview prep, selecting the images to present, advising wardrobe to wear, agency follow-up, callback scheduling, and contract review. All agents attending expect the models and talent to have a Mother Agent; if you do not, Model Makers will step into that role for the event.
